Quebec city tram concept
The City of Quebec worked jointly with the Réseau de transport de la Capitale to determine the needs and inspirations. The three interpretations, presented by the firm Morelli Designers in collaboration with Systra Canada, fit into the architectural language of the project, borrowing concepts that will constitute the signature of the structuring public transport network. The gray color, for example, or the iconographic square, will thus be found not only in the exterior and interior design of the vehicle, but also in the infrastructure of the tram.
The design vision is a guide and not the desired design finality. It contains the guidelines from which the bidders and ultimately the private partner selected for the design and manufacture of the future tram should be inspired.

We were responsible for laying the foundations for the design vision of the tramway with the guiding theme “Modernity in Heritage”. It was through a collaborative creative process that the theme and guidelines came naturally. The design will be unique to highlight the unique character of Quebec City in the world; modern, rooted in the past while representing the present and the future; simple and evocative, with a sober and timeless design.
